Marine Corp Event Day!

Marine Corp Event Day!

Welcome to the Marine Corp Event Day! My goodness what a beautiful day for it! A busy day at the course but the more the merrier as they say. Today’s turnout was incredible with everyone in high hopes and spirits on the course, with opportunities like a possibility of winning 10,000 from a hole in one, who wouldn’t be? Plus many other prize opportunities. With that being said let’s see some of the action on the course, then move to an interview with the Marines!

Now for an interview with our Marines!
Now we talked to Danny Ireland about the Marine Corp League and their None profit group, they are a league of all Marines and defendants associated that hold a variety of events and charities in Lincoln, Maine. One of the big ones being Toys for Tots, where every Christmas they give free toys to family’s to make sure every family has a Christmas with toys under the tree, something not every family is always able to do on their own. They also help with putting veterans in the parades so that we can celebrate them every time we see them pass by. We can’t forget to mention how many events they are sponsors of, they sponsor a rec basketball team every year, as well as sponsoring little league events, things that in little Lincoln, couldn’t be possible without the support of the community, and their support for the community. It all started over 25 years ago when a group of veterans wanted help carry on their marine Corp traditions, with the saying “Once a Marine, always a Marine.” To have the goal of boosting the morale and supporting other veterans. Now how does this come to talk about the tournament here today? Well for the last 19 years they have held a golf tournament every year for the veterans and their families to come, relax, grab a bite to eat, and play some golf, this also means next year will be the 20th anniversary of these events! Save the date for it! Now to conclude, Danny Ireland says he has no plan of slowing down his support any time soon and that all are welcome to join them in helping support the veterans and our community as all donations are welcome!
